The Studio, home of Georgia Youth Ballet, has begun Summerfest, its annual summer intensive workshop.  Dancers came Monday, June 4 with plenty of water and band-aids as they started three weeks of ballet training.  Guest teachers include Magda Aunon, director of Fort Lauderdale Ballet Classique; Maria Chapman, soloist with Pacific Northwest Ballet; and Dana Sasanj, artistic director of Ballet Elite; Jay Jernigan, director of Metro Movement Ensemble.

"We are so fortunate to be able to provide such quality dance instruction here in Fayetteville," said Magdalena Maury, director of The Studio.  "Every year we try to bring in an outstanding faculty that will motivate and challenge the dancers."
The three weeks of intense dance instruction will conclude with a performance on Friday, June 22, at 7 p.m. at Starr's Mill High School.  All tickets are $5 and will be available at the door.  The performance is a fund-raiser for The Prowler, Starr's Mill High School's award-winning newspaper.

In addition to Summerfest, The Studio is having an Open House on Monday and Tuesday, June 18 and 19, from 2 - 6 p.m.  Guests will be able to tour the studio, observe classes and rehearsals, and receive information about dance classes in the fall.  The Studio is located at 220 Robinson Drive in Fayetteville.  For more information call 770.716.9858 or visit their website through this link.
