Images Hosts Floorcloth Workshop By Kris & Trisha Adams on Mar. 24

 

     Artist/Photographer Deborah Smith's Images Fine Arts Gallery and Gift Shop, which opened two years ago in Grantville, has relocated to Moreland and has recently begun hosting art classes and workshops.  Information on the latest one has just been released:  a Canvas Floorcloth Workshop to be taught by Kristina and Trisha Adams from Newnan, both of whom are active in the Newnan-Coweta Art Association (NCAA) and who are active producing art works.  (Kris is especially known and appreciated for your watercolors.)  Trisha is the daughter-in-law of Kris.  Trisha has not only produced some great paintings but has also devoted a great deal of effort to NCAA, creating for it a website, a newsletter, and a gallery of monthly exhibits at the downtown Newnan coffee shop formerly called Gallery Row, now called Espresso Lane.  Information on the workshop Kris and Trisha will be conducting is provided below.  

 

Canvas Floorcloth Workshop

Date & Time:      Saturday, March 24 10am – 3pm

                            (1/2 hour break for lunch)

 

Workshop Fee:  $45 with $10 NON Refundable deposit

                            6 student minimum, 10 student maximum

Deposit will only be refunded if the minimum class requrement is not met.

                                   

 

 

Provided Materials

·     Primed and hemmed 3' x 2.5' canvas

·     Acrylic Craft Paints

·     Brushes

·     Instruction & Design Inspiration Packet

·     Floorcloth Sealing and Care Instructions

 

Students will need bring with them:

·     Old sheet or towel to place under floorcloth while painting (don't bring paper, it sticks!)

·     Pencil & Eraser

·     Yardstick

·     Sense of Humor!

 

Optional supplies to bring:

·     If you are matching specific colors, please bring those paints with you! 

·     If you have your own brushes you're comfortable with, please bring them!

·     We don't use stencils, but you're certainly welcome to!  If you want to use stencils, please bring them along.

 

** Be sure to label your paints and/or brushes so you leave with what you brought with you!

 

 

 

Instructors, Kristina Adams & Trisha Adams have been creating Custom Canvas Floorcloths locally for the past 4 years.   They're a mother & daughter-in-law duo that actually get along…most of the time, and feed off each other's creativity.   In addition Kris and Trisha paint Wall Murals and both are Watercolorists.

 

This 5 hour workshop will cover the basics of creating your own canvas floorcloth.   This is not a "paint-a-long"; each student will create their own original design.  Instructors are happy to help out with drawing, layout, and painting if necessary - but promise not to paint on your floorcloth unless you ask them!

 

Be prepared to paint hard, laugh a lot and go home with a beautiful piece of Floor Art!  Bring a drink and your lunch, we'll only break for a half an hour to eat!
