Coweta   Arts   Tidbits The  Successor  To  Newnan-Coweta  Arts  Council  News  Releases   Composed By:  Forrest W. Schultz  770-583-3258    August 4, 2008   Rebecca Wayne Named NCAA "Artist of the Month" for August 2008        The Newnan-Coweta Art Association (NCAA) has chosen Rebecca Wayne as the August 2008 Artist of the Month,, which means that her paintings will be displayed during this month in the Reception area of the City Hall Building in Newnan.  The City of Newnan's Public Information Officer Gina Lau Snider has just released the following information about this.    Newnan City Hall Artist for August 2008     Rebecca Wayne is named Newnan-Coweta Art Association's Artist of the month. Her work will be displayed at Newnan City Hall. She has been a member of NCAA for three years.    Wayne works in various mediums; pencil, acrylic, watercolor, pen and ink. Most of her subject matter comes from what she sees around her. She enjoys trying new styles and materials.   Rebecca hails from Ohio. She has been drawing and painting since a child, and has taken a few adult continuing education classes in drawing, pottery, watercolor and computer graphics, but has mostly learned on her own through books and from trial and error.   Since moving to Georgia her art has been displayed in the SCAVA 2007 juried art show, Espresso Lane in Newnan and Dogwood Gallery in Tyrone. Rebecca currently works at Honey Baked Ham in Newnan. She has a B.S. in Earth Science Education from Miami University. She also has taken additional classes in civil engineering technology at Lakeland Community College, Ohio.    Newnan Coweta Art Association meets the third Thursday of each month from September to May at the Harriet Alexander Art Center on Hospital Road at 7:00 p.m.  Visitors and guests are welcome to join in the fun.  An art demonstration is presented each month.     Gina   gina l. snider Public Information Officer O: 770.254.2358  x. 203 F: 770.254.2353 M: 770.294.1559 P.O.
