Grantville Depot Gospel Sing for October Announced

The Grantville Day Committee is thankful to Roy Smith for arranging three of the Southern Country Gospel Music Groups which sang on Sunday September 28 during Grantville Day. Smith has become an authority on the Southern Country Gospel Groups in the area ever since he and the late Tommy Boyd several years ago founded the monthly Sings at the Grantville Railroad Freight depot which bring in these groups to perform and minister there. Smith has just announced the groups which will be present at the next Sing, which will be held on Saturday October 25 beginning at 7 PM. As usual, the atmosphere will be casual and picnic like, refreshments will be served and you can come and go when you wish and admission is free.

These groups will be Day Spring from Alabama, Joyful Spirits from Whitesburg, and the Parrish Family from Florida. Anyone wishing information on these monthly Depot Sings can contact Roy Smith at 770-251-5621 or by email at depotsinging@yahoo.com.

Grantville is a small city in southern Coweta County at Exit 35 on Interstate 85. The Railroad Depot was restored during the 1990s and is a historic site which is very important to Grantville, which gets its name from Mr. L. P.Grant, the President of the Railroad during the late 19th century.  It also provides an ideal venue for the Southern Country Gospel Music genre.
