Gallery Players Press Release Revised

Actor Joey Waldrop of Senoia made the news last year when he was accepted into the prestigious Fayette-based Gallery Players Improv Troupe, run by Dr. Susan Steadman of Offshoot Productions.  At that time he was the only Cowetan in Gallery Players.  Recently another Cowetan, Chrisi Talyn, who recently moved from LA to Palmetto, was accepted into Gallery Players.  Now Waldrop is back in the news again, this time with the announcement that he will soon be leaving Coweta to work for Disney Studios in Orlando, Florida.  Dr. Steadman has recently stated that their press release about the upcoming Gallery Players Murder Off The Cuff has been revised since Waldrop will no longer be here to participate.  Everything will remain the same except for Waldrop's absence.  Below is the revised Press Release issued by Steadman.

Offshoot Returns to Atlanta Bread in Peachtree City

With Murder Off the Cuff

Offshoot Productions, whose January show at Atlanta Bread Company in The Avenue, Peachtree City was sold out well in advance, returns to the restaurant on Sunday, March 29, with the Gallery Players improv troupe in Murder Off the Cuff.  Audience members are invited to arrive early and purchase dinner or dessert and beverage before an evening of comedic mayhem beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10, and are available at the restaurant, online with a credit card at www.offshoot.org, or by mail with checks made out to Offshoot Productions and mailed to P.O. Box 2462, Peachtree City, GA 30269.

The company is welcoming a new cast member, Chrisi Talyn, who recently relocated to Atlanta's Southside from L.A.  Talyn, who received her theatre degree from Illinois State University and trained with the Second City in Chicago, will also be performing at the Georgia Renaissance Festival this spring.  The other members of the troupe include Elizabeth Clausen, Andy Fleming, Kristi Israel and Paige Steadman.

Clausen, who recently appeared in Offshoot's company-developed Tales from Near and Far, has spent over 30 years performing in professional and community theatres on "both sides of the pond."  Fleming, with a strong background in musical theatre, performed in and accompanied Offshoot's Fairy Tale Project as well as Fairy Tales for Grownups and the recent Tales from Near and Far.  Israel, a graduate of Kennesaw State University's Theatre and Performance Studies program, appeared in Offshoot's Comedy of Errors, The Tempest, and The Pied Piper.  Steadman, who is also the company's composer and musical director, has performed at the Georgia Renaissance Festival, in college theatre and in numerous Offshoot shows.  She penned 2006's Frog Prince and co-authored two murder mysteries with Susan M. Steadman, Ph.D., the ensemble's director.

Murder Off the Cuff relies on audience interaction with the performers.  It is the audience who comes up with the murder weapon, victim, killer and motives, and who decides which detectives should populate the stage.

Seating is limited at Atlanta Bread, so early ticket purchase is recommended.    The Avenue is located at the intersection of GA Hwy 74 and GA Hwy 54.  Atlanta Bread's phone number is (770) 486-1330.

For additional information on the performance or on booking the Gallery Players, contact Offshoot Productions at (770) 631-2362 or offshootpr@aol.com.  Offshoot is the longest-running professional theatre on the Southside.
