In the previous notice (forwarded below) on this, I passed on the info that the Chinses Youth Orchestra Concert had been cancelled due to swine flu. Bette Hickman has stated that this concert will be postponed until some time next summer. (Summer is the only time they can come over here.) Schultz 770-583-3258 schultz_forrest@ yahoo.com June 19, 2009 Chinese Youth Orchestra at Arts Centre July 26 Students From Hangzhou Zhongee Wenlan High School In Concert Bette Hickman has announced that the Cultural Arts Commission of the City of Newnan has arranged for students at the Hangzhou Zhongee Wenlan High School to give an orchestral concert at the Centre for Performing at Visual Arts of Coweta County on July 26 at 3:00 PM. This performance will be part of their very first American tour. The theme of the concert is Recalling The Ancient and Looking Forward To The Future. These Chinese student musicians will be given the opportunity to experience Southern hospitality in the various homes in Newnan which will be housing them while they are in Coweta. Tickets are $8 for general admission, and $5 for students and senior citizens. Because this is expected to be a sellout event, it wold be advisable to purchase tickets in advance. They can be obtained at Scott's Book Store in downtown Newnan, at the Thomas Crossroads Branch of the Bank of Coweta, or at Morgan Jewelers in the Ashley Park Mall.
