August 11, 2009 Musicology Announces Classes By Vocal Arts Instructor Pia Ugarte
Musicology of Newnan has announced the offering of a course in Beginning Voice Lessons which will be taught by one of the premier vocal arts instructors on the Southside, Maria Pia Ugarte, the founder of the famed Ugarte Studio in Fayette County who recently became an instrcutor at Musicology of Newnan. BEGINNING VOICE LESSONS
Group voice lessons are offered as an Introduction to Voice. Classes are 50 minutes long, once weekly, meeting twice the last week. Instruction is provided by Maria Pia Ugarte, Artistic Director of Voices and Zaphyra and Founding Director of The Ugarte Studio. This course is an introduction to the fundamentals of singing. Students will receive instruction in the basics of breath management, posture, vocal and muscle coordination, ear training and pitch recoginition. At the end of the last lesson, at 6:45 pm, a song will be performed jointly by the students for family and friends. Lesson Days: Tuesday, August 18 Tuesday, August 25 Tuesday, September 1 Thursday, September 3 (Performance at 6:45 pm) Time: 6:05 - 6:55 pm Course Fee: $60.00 Materials Fee: $5.00 No music background necessary. Age range: 7 - 12 years old. Other ages must be approved by instructor
