Retired Coweta Schools Art Teacher Still Producing Art Works

Richard Scott Hill made a profound impact upon the Coweta arts scene, mainly through the many students he influenced as an art teacher at East Coweta High School and through the Georgia High Photography program he established there, which led to a show of students photographs at the Carter Center and one student (Josh Hubbell in 2004) winning Third place in a national photography contest.  Last year Hill retired from teaching but not from the production of art.  He recently made the news when one his photographs was a finalist in a contest sponsored by the Smithsonian magazine.

There will be an opportunity to see Hill's latest art works at an exhibit at the Naomi Silva Gallery at the TULA Art Center in Atlanta from May 11 through June 9.  He will be present at the opening reception on the first night (May 11).   Information on the Gallery is available on their website www.naomisilvagallery.com.  The works in Hill's exhibit are shown at www.naomilvagallery.com/richard_scott_hill/index.htm.  One of these, a photograph of a butterfly, is shown below.
