Movie By Cowetan Using Local Actors Soon To Air on Television

Joe Dwyer's Shubian's Rift Compared With Star Trek
Delta Air Lines Pilot Joe Dwyer not only enjoys flying around the Earth, he has also long liked to imagine piloting a starship through outer space. The result was the production last year of a science fiction film Shubian's Rift, which is being compared to Star Trek by some, such as the Hollyword North Reporter. Surprisingly little has been said about this around here until lately in spite of the fact that the film premiered in the prestigious Centre for Performing and Visual Arts of Coweta County and the cast was selected from professional level actors recruited mainly from past and present members of the Newnan Theatre Company including former leaders Dayle Lyles, who currently heads the Lacuna Group, and Caroline Carr, who currently is the Artistic Director of the Renaissance Festival. There was an article in Newnan's paper The Times Herald announcing the premiere. In the current issue of the 85 South -- Out and About publication there is an article about the film along with a photograph of the flyer showing Dwyer's wife Mo holding a space age gun. Watch for announcements when the times for the TV series has been established. Information about the movie is available on the informative website http://www.shubiansrift.com/. AND, chalk up yet one more triumph for the ever burgeoning Coweta arts scene !!!
