HOW TO PAINT FABULOUS PICTURES FROM YOUR OWN PHOTOS:
>
> A Workshop With Shelley Laurin
>
> March 31 Beginning at 10a.m. until 4p.m.
>
>
> In this full day workshop, Shelley Laurin draws upon 12 years of experience
in editing and revising her own photos to create compositions which are the
basis for her prize winning paintings.
>
> She will explain why it is important to work from your own photos, how to
choose and light indoor subjects, best times and conditions for an outdoor
"shoot", and the advantage of using available light wherever possible.
>
> She will demonstrate how to "simplify and dramatize", providing guidance for
cropping to enhance the focal point, creating an "eye path", and eliminating
distractions.
>
> Students will then have an opportunity to apply these concepts to their own
photos, doing line drawings and value sketches to create an exciting original
composition.
>
> Shelley Laurin is a member of the Newnan Coweta Art Association, Shelley has
been painting for ten years and has participated in many of the Association's
workshops and shows.
>
> Most recently, her work has been shown at Espresso Lane Coffeehouse and the
Newnan Coweta Centre for the Performing and Visual Arts. Shelley also has
participated in the SCAVA show entitled "Georgia's Riches."
>
> Laurin's award-winning work hangs in many homes and offices in the Newnan
area. Her commissioned work includes the Newnan Courthouse and several historic
