Coweta Scene Gains New Artist:

Jane Whitehurst Moves to Senoia

Will Have First Show at Dogwood Gallery in February

The bad news is that the Coweta scene lost two visual artists last year when Deborah Landry and Dan Blake moved out of the county.  The good news is that near the end of the year Coweta gained a new visual artist when Jane Whitehurst moved to Senoia.  And she is wasting no time in displaying her works.  She already has a few of her paintings on display at the Dogwood Gallery in Tyrone and she will have her first show there from February 22 through March 1.  The opening reception, where the public can meet her, will be in the evening on the first day of the show (Feb. 22) from 6:30 through 9:30 PM.

The Dogwood Gallery is located in the same building as the Legacy Theatre at 1175 Senoia Road N in Tyrone.  Information is available by calling 770-774-3524 or visiting their website at www.dogwoodgallery.net.

Information on Jane Whitehurst is available on her website www.janewhitehurst.com.

For the past 15 years Whitehurst has produced a variety of different kinds of visual art in various media.  Her specialty is abstract oil paintings.  Her website shows her studio in Senoia and some of her paintings.  The Dogwood Gallery website has a picture of the gallery and also shows the paintings by Whitehurst (and other artists) currently on display there.
