Senoia To Celebrate Earth Day With "The Art Of Green"

Last year there was a sudden burgeoning of arts activity in the Coweta County City of Senoia. An indication that this may be continuing this year was provided today when the Cultural Arts Committee of Senoia released the following information about a special Earth Day event they are planning called "The Art of Green":

"Senoia Goes Green"

Green isn't just the color of Spring in Coweta County; it's also the theme of a new arts event sponsored by the Cultural Arts Committee of Senoia's Downtown Development Authority. On Saturday, April 25th from 10 to 6, Historic Downtown Senoia will celebrate Earth Day with a sidewalk art show featuring artists who work with recycled materials.
"The Art of Green" will include open-air booths of artwork made of recycled wood, metal, plastic, paper and cloth. Booths showcasing locally grown produce and other items will also be a part of the event.

To participate in "The Art of Green," please reserve your space by contacting Suzanne Helfman at 770-599-8182 or Ann Busey at 770-599-3331. Entry forms will also be available at the Office of Downtown Development at 9 Main St. in Senoia. In case of inclement weather, the rain date is Saturday, May 2nd. Admission to the event is free and open to the public.

In answer to a question, one of the Senoia officials made it clear that participation in "The Art of Green" is open to any interested artist, not just to artists living in Senoia.
