Newnan City Hall Artist for the month of March
Rebecca Wayne is named Newnan-Coweta Art Association's Artist of the Month for the Month of March, at Newnan City Hall. Rebecca works in various medium; pencil, watercolor, pastels, acrylic and pen and ink. Most of her subject matter comes from what she sees around her and enjoys trying new styles and materials. She has been drawing and painting since a child, and has taken a few adult continuing education classes in drawing, pottery, watercolor and computer graphics, but has mostly learned on her own through books, trial and error and watching others..
Rebecca was born and spent most of her life in Ohio. Since moving to Georgia has had her art displayed in the SCAVA 2007 juried art show, Espresso Lane in Newnan, Dogwood Gallery in Tyrone, and the Administration Building in Newnan. She has a B.S. in Earth Science Education from Miami University, Ohio and additional classes in Civil Engineering Technology at Lakeland Community College, Ohio.
Rebecca is a member of the Newnan-Coweta Art Association. NCAA meets the third Thursday each month (from September to May) at the Harriet Alexander Art Center off Hospital Road (next road on right past Library) at 7:00 p.m. Visitors and new members welcome.
