Schultz 770-583-3258 schultz_forrest@yahoo.com   September 2, 2009   The Place Author Bart Gibson in Book Signing at Powers Festival        There will be several Coweta County authors at the Powers Crossroads Festival this year to do signings of their books.  One of these is also one of Coweta's newest authors, Bart Gibson, who published his first book this year -- The Place.        Bart Gibson has lived in Coweta County for some time -- first in Moreland and now in Newnan -- but his roots are in Meriwether County, where he can trace his ancestors all the way back to the original settlers there.  It was the knowledge of, and influence of, these ancestors that eventually led him to write a novel of the rural South which is set in a sort of fictionalized Meriwether County during the close of World War II.  Gibson dedicates this novel, The Place, to all of his extended family members who have served in the military, but especially to his great-uncles who fought in World War II and served as the inspiration for the story.  Its publication is one of seven known books published by Coweta authors so far this year.   Bart Gibson is one of the newest member of the Coweta Writers Group and one of  the most recent example of the proliferation of new authors in Coweta County.          Anyone wishing to meet Gibson and acquire a signed copy of his book can come to the Powers Festival on September 7, when Gibson plans to be there.
