Richard Scott Hill Finalist Photo on Smithsonian Magazine Website

Richard Scott Hill has received many recognitions of his artistic excellence.  The latest of these occurred when his photograph Warm-up at the West Georgia Speedway became a finalist in the Americana category of the Fourth Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photography Contest and was posted on its website on April 1: http://photocontest.smithsonianmag.com/v4/americana2.html.  Those who are knowledgeable about the doings in the Coweta County arts scene are not suprised at Hill's latest triumph because he is best known here for promoting photographic excellence among the county's high school students through the Georgia High Photography Program at East Coweta High School, where he was the Chairman of the Art Department until his retirement last year.  Although Hill has retired from art education, he clearly has not retired from the production of art.
