Coweta Musician Ken White in Concert Sponsored by Fayette Arts Committee

The online news service The Southside Arts Agenda has been doing an excellent job covering the burgeoning arts scene in the counties of the Southern Crescent.  One of the  items in the current issue, reproduced below, deals with a concert coming up on October 27, which is especially interesting for showing the co-operation among the counties with respect to the arts:  the Fayette arts council, The Endowment Committee For Cultural Arts (ECCA), is sponsoring a concert featuring a musician from Coweta, Ken White.  This announcement is taken from the ECCA website www.fayettecounty-ecca.org

Ken WhiteMr. White is a resident of  Newnan, Georgia, and is currently serving on staff with the music and technical ministry at Peachtree City United Methodist Church in Peachtree City, Georgia.   He holds music studies and degrees from the University of Alabama, the University of Georgia, and Atlanta Christian College, as well as ten years of training in the Betty Colson studio for Opera singing in Atlanta, Georgia.   Mr. White is currently working to complete his doctorate degree  in vocal  performance. He has appeared as tenor soloist with the Peachtree Pops Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Ballet Orchestra, the Atlanta Choral Guild, the Mercer University Choral Guild, the Pensacola Choral Society, the Tara Choral Guild at Spivey Hall, as well as past years with the choral departments of the University of Alabama, University of Georgia, and Atlanta Christian College.   With an almost thirty year background in music ministry and the professional performance stage, Mr. White performs as conductor and vocal soloist from an extensive repertoire of classical, sacred oratorio, operatic, broadway, pop, jazz, contemporary Christian, and Gospel material.   From 1997 to the present, Mr. White has served as president / producer/performer for Ken White Musical Productions, Inc., a self-made performance company specializing in "Pops" concert entertainment.   From this organization came the birth of the Peachtree Pops Symphony Orchestra and Peachtree Pops Big Band, for which Ken White serves as conductor.   These groups have performed seasonal concerts per year, at churches and performing arts auditoriums around Atlanta.

Mr. White has also served through stage and church music as producer,
conductor, and soloist at various mass choral and orchestral projects in
