Flint Gallery at Panoply Announces Jewelry Workshops
Panoply Interior Design and Home Decor in downtown Newnan has been making a great contribution to the visual arts by hanging many great works on art on the walls of its showroom and workroom. This display of art there is being called the Flint Gallery. Now the Director of the Flint Gallery and Owner of Panoply Martha Ann Parks has announced their latest contribution to the Coweta arts scene: Jewelry Workshops. This announcement reads:

Please join us for four interactive workshops where you will work alongside Melody, Margaret and Jennifer to create yor own unique piece of jewelry art.
MORNING SESSIONS:
CHAIN MAILLE JEWELRY
Learn to turn jump rings into a variety of beautifully textured chains. In this three-hour hands-on workshop, Margaret Crow will teach you the Byzantine, Foxtail, and Full- and Half-Persian chain patterns. She will also show you how to incorporate beads to make your chain maille jewelry designs more colorful - and uniquely your own.

INTERACTIVE JEWELRY DESIGN I
In this lively interactive workshop, Jennifer Norris will share her highly effective approaches to choosing colors, shapes and structures when
designing jewelry to go with a special item of clothing. Each participant should bring a garment or fabric swatch to use as a starting point for
discussion. Jennifer will bring a varied assortment of beads to facilitate a faux shopping and decision-making spree. No purchases are required since no actual jewelry will be made in this morning's session. However, beads and
other supplies will be available for purchase.

AFTERNOON SESSIONS
INTERACTIVE JEWELRY DESIGN 2:
From Design to Reality
If you took Jennifer's "Interactive Jewelry Design" class this morning and wish to actually make the piece you conceptualized, come back after a break
for lunch and let her show you how.

TWISTED WIRE JEWELRY
Melody MacDuffee's book on this technique won't be out until next spring, but you can learn how to do it now. Craft a one-of-a-kind necklace or pair
of earrings out of Swarovski crystals and sterling silver or 14k gold-fill wire as you master this new and surprisingly easy approach to making
intricate floral-filigree jewelry.
