                          Young Artists Group Announces Classes in January
 
     Teri Lewis, The Publicity Director of the Young Artists of Newnan and Coweta County, has just released the information below about new art classes:
 

Youth Arts

 

Beginners Tuesdays Coming in January 2008

 

Beginning students (ages 3 ½ through 5 year olds) will focus on the use of soft lead pencil (artists' pencils), crayons, tempera paints, watercolor paints and markers as they develop their compositions.

 

Students will also be introduced to a few famous artists whose work will reinforce the lessons of the day.  Compositions will be developed from still life, landscapes, figure drawing, and animals. Curriculum will be appropriate for the specific age and skill level. Instruction will be guided according to the drawing skill level of the class.

 

Supplies will be provided.

 

Class:                   Beginners Class (ages 3 ½ - 5)

Day:                 The Youngest Artists Class will meet every Tuesday                                 of each week beginning January 8, 2008 and running                        through the end of May. 

Time:                Class times:  4:00pm – 5:00pm

Cost:                 $40.00 per month.  (We provide art supplies.)

Class size:         limited to no more than 22 students.  (Minimum                              number to ensure class makes in early January is 12                                prepaid students. 

 

No registration fee required for this class.

 

Classes are taught by artist-instructors in a relaxed environment that encourages self-expression and builds self confidence. 


Youth classes meet in the Harriet Alexander Art Center off of Hospital Road, next to the Coweta County Recreation Department Temple Avenue location.
