Cathy Lee Phillips Wins "Georgia Author of Year" Award

From The National League of American Pen Women

Although Cathy Lee Phillips has moved from Coweta County, she still regards it as home, still maintains her ties here, and is a member of the Coweta Writers Group (CWG).  Her fellow CWG members rejoiced with her when they were informed of her great triumph last month of being named The Georgai Author of The Year by one of our nation's oldest and most prestigious arts organizations, the National League of American Pen Women, which was founded in the late nineteenth century to honor great achievements in the visual and literary arts by American women.  While the organization is to be commended for this, it is not commendable for its poorly maintained website which made it impossible until recently to download the photo of Phillips receiving the Award shown below.  The Presentation was made on May 13, 2009 at the Ansley Golf and Country Club in Atlanta.

Information on Phillips and her writing can be found on her website www.cathyleephillips.com, which shows how busy she is, which is not suprising since she now devotes all her time to writing and writing-related activities.  The novel for which she won the award is titled Honey, There's A Cat In The Freezer, which was published last year.  She is the author of four previous books, and of two which are soon to be published, Heart Wait and I Don't Have Baggage.
