Asian Culture Festival Coming To Downtown Newnan On Sept. 26

Will Benefit Community Welcome House

One of the best known and appreciated of Coweta's charitable organizations is the Community Welcome House, which helps victims of domestic abuse.  From time to time various activities are conducted to raise funds for this worthy ministry.  The next one coming up is a bit different -- it will be an Asian Culture Festival, which is being

planned by the Shiloh Mission of the Shiloh Chinese Christian Church in Newnan and is being co-hosted by the Shiloh Mission and the Welcome House.  Here is the information recently released by Amy Tai on behalf of Shiloh Mission:

The Community Welcome House and Shiloh Mission is hosting the first annual Asian Culture Festival on September 26, 2009 from 12 pm- 6 pm at court house square in downtown Newnan, Georgia.  We plan to have food, drink, vendors from various businesses, live concerts and much more.  This event is to promote not only Asian cultures but also knit the community closer together.  There will be businesses and non-profit organizations representing a variety of industries and services.

Here are several ways YOU can participate in the event.

  1. COME!!! Tell your friends and families about it.  Bring your loved ones for an afternoon of fun.  This event is completely FREE!
  2. Put up a poster/flyer at your office, shop, work place.  Tell EVERYONE!
  3. Post this event on your website, blog, Facebook, Twitter, group news.  Tell EVERYBODY!
  4. Be a performer.  If your music/dance group would like to perform at our live concert, please contact Shiloh Mission at 770-502-2306.  EVERYONE is welcome.  Live concert will start at 1:00pm.
  5. Be a vendor.  The booths are $50.00 each and will go directly to benefiting the women and children at The Community Welcome House, a safe haven for victims of domestic violence.  You will receive a 10'x10' space around the court house and electricity is provided free of charge.  There are no other charges or fees.  This is a great way to fundraise for your organization, advertise your business and sell your products.
  6. Be a sponsor.  If you cannot or do not wish to rent a booth, you can still support us with your products and services.  Businesses are welcome to donate gift certificates and/or products and services toward raffles opportunities throughout the day.  Your logo will be put on the poster and other printed announcements distributed throughout the metro-Atlanta area.
  7. Be a donor.  You can donate directly to The Community Welcome House.  CWH has its very own thrift store located in downtown Newnan.  New Beginnings accepts donations from Tuesday to Friday 10am-2pm and on Saturdays from 10am-4pm.  You can also visit CWH website at www.communitywelcomehouse.com for more information and other donation options.
