[Coweta Arts Tidbits] Grantville Gospel Sings For October Will Be Final Ones for 2007

Roy Smith has announced that the Grantville Southern Country Gospel Sings for the month of October will be the last ones held in 2007. The venue, an ideal one for this musical genre, will be Colley Park, which is located on the north side of Main Street in Grantville and which is named after the Colley family, which was once prominent in Grantville. These will be a totally en plain air performances, i.e. both the musicians and the audience will be out of doors, in the open air, not under any kind of roof at all. The roof will be the trees! And the atmosphere will be picnic-like -- members of the audience will be seated on their own lawn chairs and may feel free to nibble on snacks and drink sodas if they are so inclinced. These sings will be held during the last weekend of October, Friday October 26 and Saturday October 27, each night beginning at 7 PM and lasting for approximately three hours. Not all the singers for Saturday are lined up yet. Here is what is known as of this time of the musicians who will be there:
Friday October 26:
The Christianaires from LaGrange, GA
The Carter Trio from LaGrange, GA
One Accord from Columbus, GA
Joyful Spirits from Whitesburg, GA
Saturday October 27
Crystal River from Oxford, AL
Twin Creek from LaGrange, GA
(Others not yet announced)
Here is a photo of the Crystal River singers, who are coming to Grantville for the first time!
