Author Paige Cummings Speaker at Southern Writers Conference on July 5
There are many different services which have been established to help writers in their work.  The Southern Writers Conference on Saturday, July 5 in one of its sessions will offer an opportunity to discuss three of these services:  conferences, classes, and critique groups.  The discussion leader will be a prominent writer, Paige Mercer Cummings, whose Southern mystery novel Under The Liberty Oak was one of  the nominees for the Georgia Author of the Year Award for Best First Novel of 2007.  Her session will be held from 2:30 PM through 3:15 PM.  Although Cummings is the speaker and session leader, this is intended to be a very interactive session, meaning there will be plenty of opportunity for questions and comments from those attending.
The Southern Writers Conference will be held at the Holiday Inn Express at 6 Herring Road (just off of Bullsboro Drive near the Racetrac Service Station).  Further information about the Conference including the other sessions and how to register is found on this website,  The Conference is the brainchild of Vickie Kennedy, who also is the organizer and director.  Kennedy is the author of several books, is the owner of the etreasures publishing Co., which is one of the co-sponsors, and is also the founder and director of the Writers Block, a permanent writing workshop based in Newnan.
The Southern Writers Conference is the first writers conference to be held in Coweta County.  Vickie Kennedy is being applauded for this accomplishment which is one more example of the burgeoning arts scene in Coweta County specifically and in the Southside generally.
Information about author Paige Cummings and her book is found on her website
