Prof. "Mike" Swanson To Address Southern Writers Conference on July 5 in Newnan
 
     Among the most popular genres in contemporary fiction are crime novels and legal suspense.  And the best writers in these genres are making special efforts to be insure that their depictions of legal and criminal detection procedures are accurate.  Any such writer will have an opportunity to learn how to do this at one of the sessions during the Southern Writers Conference on July 5 in Newnan, GA.  The presenter will be Dr. Charles "Mike" Swanson, a professor in the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia in Athens. Dr. Swanson has had experience as a patrol officer, a detective and a director of a law enforcment council. He has also authored numerous writings on the subject of law enforcement and has been involved in training law enforcement personell.  His session will last from 5:30 PM through 6:15 PM.  An opportunity will be provided for questions after his presentation.
