Sellout Causes Extension of High School Musical at Legacy Theatre

The Legacy Theatre's next show has already attracted so much attention that before I even got a chance to announce it here they have already sold out all the tickets and have decided to extend the perfornance.  Although the theatre itself is located in Tyrone, this can be regarded as a triumph for Coweta arts because the owners and directors, Mark and Bethany Smith, live in Newnan.

Here is what the website www.thelegacytheatre.org says about this show, which is called High School Musical:

Forever Plaid

High School Musical
July 31st - August 5th, 2007
This is a full- length staged musical of the much-loved Disney Channel original movie.  The movie has broken all ratings records across the country and has been televised in over 100 countries worldwide.  The soundtrack is the top-selling album of the year.  The musical contains all of the soundtrack favorites such as "Get'cha Head in the Game", "Stick To the Status Quo" and "Start of Something New" PLUS 2 new songs and a "High School Musical Mega Mix"!

There you have it, folks, one more testimony to the burgeoning Coweta arts scene.  Mark and Bethany have almost worked themselves to death to produce theatrical excellence.  Looks like it has paid off!! I sure hope someone at that Theatre is having them come out and get applauded!!
