In Backyard Kids Theatre Production of Cinderella On June 13 & 14
Lisa Sunderman McCauley, the General Manager of the Fayette-based Backyard Kids Theatre, has announced that there will be two Coweta County students involved in the Theatre's production of Cinderella next month. Abby Mortensen, a fifth grade student at Cannongate Elementary School, will be playing the role of the cloth merchant and will be among those cast members singing solos. Kelsi Adams, a 17 year old student at Northgate High School will be serving on the Creative Team as the Make-Up & Hair Co-ordinator. The idea of kids putting on their own theatrical production was formed by Paige McCauley, Camille Edwards, and Chase Thomaston and is supported by their parents. Consequently this theatrical troupe is organized, managed, and supervised by the McCauley, Edward, and Thomaston families. Its mission is to allow high school and middle school students to use their creativity in directing, casting, acting, and choreographing the shows themselves. It also provides opportunities for talented middle school performers to take parts that they usually would not be permitted to take due to their age. The show will be held June 13th at 7 p.m., and June 14th at 3:00 p.m. at Heritage Christian Church, off Redwine and Peachtree Parkway, in Fayetteville, GA.
