Orlando Ballet Summer Intensives Accept Two Classical Dance Theatre Students

An announcement was recently made about three of Newnan's Classical Dance Theatre students being accepted into the American Ballet Theatre's prestigious Summer Intensive training program, a great accomplishment!  Well, as amazing as this is, it turns out that there is yet more to announce.  One of these same students, Meghan Novoa, has also been accepted into another prestigious Summer Intensive Program, the one run another of our nation's top ballet schools, the Orlando Ballet in Orlando, Florida.  And another Classical Dance Theatre (CDT) student will be joining her there:  Victoria Smith.
This is the information released by the CDT Publicity Director Greta Watkins:

Two CDT Dance Students Accepted Into Orlando Ballet's Summer Intensive

Victoria Smith, of Newnan,  has been accepted to attend Orlando Ballet School's 2009 Summer Intensive Program.  Miss Smith trains at Classical Dance Theatre (CDT) in Newnan.  After a highly competitive audition process, Miss Smith was selected to attend five weeks of training at one of the most prestigious dance schools in the U.S.

Orlando Ballet School graduates have danced with American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet, Hamburg Ballet, and the National Ballet of Spain, just to name a few.  The Orlando Ballet Summer Intensive Program features six hours of daily classes taught by Orlando Ballet faculty and guests.

Also accepted into the Orlando Ballet Summer Intensive is CDT dancer, Meaghan Novoa.  Miss Novoa, also a Newnan resident, received a scholarship to attend the summer intensive.  Both dancers will be performing at the upcoming CDT Spring Concert to be held on Saturday, May 30 at Our Lady of Mercy in Fairburn.  For more information, call the CDT studio at 770-252-5515 or visit www.classicaldancetheatre..com.
